Hebrews 12:1 (ESV)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
Talk About It
Life can feel like a race that gets hard sometimes. The Bible reminds us of many heroes—like Moses, David, and Esther—who trusted God when things were tough. But our greatest hero is Jesus! He started our faith and makes it complete. Jesus went through hard times—even the cross—but He kept going because He knew joy was coming.
God wants us to “run the race” by following Jesus, even when we’re tired, sad, or want to quit. We can let go of things that slow us down—like bad choices or worries—and keep our eyes on Jesus. He helps us keep going!
When you feel like giving up, remember there are people cheering you on, and remember—Jesus is with you every step, helping you finish strong.
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, thank You for giving us Jesus as our hero and helper. Give us strength to keep trusting and following You when life is hard. Amen.
